As part of a federally funded initiative, we’re launching Apprenticeship Innovation Districts across the country. Northern Virginia/Maryland is one of five selected regions—and we’re looking for a bold, collaborative leader to take the helm.

• Partner with the ecosystem.
  You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with workforce boards, community colleges, American Job Centers, and local organizations. This is a team effort. You’ll help scale what’s working and build capacity for what’s next.
• Challenge barriers, not institutions.
  You’ll identify outdated practices and propose new pathways that align with today’s talent and today’s economy. You’ll do this with respect—recognizing the essential role every partner plays in workforce development.
• Expand apprenticeships with real impact.
  ‍You’ll help employers design meaningful, paid roles that lead to real advancement—not check-the-box programs, but high-value experiences that benefit both workers and businesses.
• Strengthen the regional workforce system.
  You’ll help connect the dots between industry, education, and government so earn-and-learn becomes the default model—not a side project.
• Model Execution
  You believe in the apprenticeship model—and you know how to make it work. You understand the moving parts and help employers navigate them with confidence. You’re practical, nimble, and focused on removing friction so businesses can adopt apprenticeships easily and workers can thrive.
• Be a visible voice for change.
  You’ll represent BuildWithin in public forums, at convenings, and in the media—not just to speak, but to spotlight the employers who are investing in people through apprenticeships. You’ll help others see the value of the model—the win-win it creates for companies and workers alike. Through stories and evidence, you’ll shift mindsets, practices, and policies.
• Bring field insights to strategy.
  What you learn on the ground will shape how we move at the national level. You’ll bring back insights that sharpen our strategy and deepen our impact.
• Contribute to the national conversation.
  From LA to DC, you’ll help shape how the country trains, hires, and develops talent in a world transformed by AI and rapid change.
