About the Role

BuildWithin is hiring an experienced and dynamic Data Analyst Instructor to lead adult learners through a project-based course focused on preparing them for roles in data analysis, and operations teams. This course is designed for learners aiming to land jobs as Junior Data Analysts, Business Analysts, Operations Analysts, Research Associates, as well as upskill workers in roles such as: Office/Business Managers, Customer Service Professionals, Sales Professionals, Product Managers and others.

What you'll Do

Deliver structured, hands-on instruction in data analysis tools and techniques, including Excel, Google sheets, SQL, Python (pandas), and data visualization
Skill Building: Walk students through real datasets and problems they would encounter on the job including types of databases (including vector databases)
Guide students through writing Python scripts in Jupyter Notebooks to clean datasets, perform calculations, and generate basic visualizations
Train students to use Excel and Google Sheets to create pivot tables, apply formulas like VLOOKUP, IF, and INDEX MATCH, and build charts to present trends and comparisons.
Introduce relevant AI applications and concepts

Requirements

Proficiency in Excel), Google Workspace (specially Google sheets), and Python
Strong working knowledge of databases, SQL, including SELECT statements, JOINs, filtering, grouping, and writing queries to support reporting and analysis
Clear understanding of data cleaning, structuring, and wrangling processes, including handling missing data, inconsistent formats, and duplicates
Experience using Python for data analysis, specifically with pandas, matplotlib or seaborn, and Jupyter Notebooks
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Google Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI
Availability to teach in-person in downtown Washington, DC at least one day per week
